Marilyn - 25 Milligrams
This piece contains 4,500 individually wrapped pills, arranged by hand inside a plexiglass frame. Every pill represents a prescription reportedly written to Marilyn Monroe. It’s meticulous, clinical, and quietly devastating.
The pill series looks at overdose through the lens of celebrity—not as spectacle, but as pattern. The portraits hold up the illusion of fame, then quietly dismantle it, capsule by capsule. From across the room, it’s Marilyn. Up close, it’s inventory.
Fame doesn’t protect you from being human. If anything, it makes it easier to forget that you are.
Works from my pills series have sold for up to $34,573 at auction (Ravenel).
This one isn’t for shock. It’s for accuracy.
